Butchery & Meats

Pork, chicken and sausages from stock we raise ourselves at Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe. Fresh pork is $3.60 per kg on bulk orders.

The counter

Meat from a farm, not from a middleman

Everything on this page begins in our own pens. The pigs are bred, weaned and finished here, the birds are raised here, and the meat leaves from the farm gate. That short line between the pen and your order is the whole reason we can sell pork in bulk at the price we do.

What the butchery handles

  • Fresh pork — bulk orders, $3.60 per kg
  • Chicken — from our own broilers, price on request
  • Sausages — made with our own pork, price on request

Bulk pork is the one price we publish, because it is the one we can hold. Everything else moves with the market, so we quote it on the day you order — call the sales line and you get the real figure rather than a guess.

Fresh pork — $3.60 per kg, bulk orders only

Fresh pork from the Ecomatt herd goes out at $3.60 per kilogram, from the farm at Sherwood, Kwekwe. That price is for bulk orders only — it is not a single-kilo counter price. Agree the quantity on the phone first, then collect. If you need the meat brought to you, ask about it when you order; distribution is one of the services the farm runs.

Chicken and sausages

These three move with the market, so we quote them when you order. Tell us the quantity and the day, and you will get the current price on the spot.

Chicken

  • Household and bulk quantities
  • Raised in our own poultry houses

Sausages

Sausages made with pork from the same herd that supplies the bulk pork — value-added work done on the farm rather than bought in and re-labelled. Sold to households, tuckshops, butcheries and caterers who want a steady supply they can count on.

Why it tastes better

It starts in our own pens

Meat is only ever as good as the animal it came from and the way that animal was kept. Because the herd is ours from farrowing to finishing, we know exactly what went into every kilogram that leaves the farm.

Piglets and sows in the nursery pen

Raised here, start to finish

Bred and farrowed on the farm, weaned here and finished here. Nothing is bought in at the last minute from wherever happened to be cheapest that week.

Curious weaners at the pen rail

Animals we know by sight

Records kept in the farrowing house, weaners checked daily and stock handled quietly. Calm, well-kept animals are the start of good meat.

Feeding line in the growing pens

Fed on what we grow

Maize off our own lands and the by-products that come out of the mill go straight back into the feed troughs, so we know what the herd is eating.
