Tomatoes
Field-grown tomatoes, picked firm and sorted by size before they leave the farm. We load crates for market traders, bulk quantities for wholesalers and retail shops, and smaller lots for households collecting at the gate.
Vegetables and seasonal crops grown on our own lands at Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe — picked, graded and packed here, then sold to wholesalers, retailers, market traders and households.
Horticulture runs alongside the piggery and the grain lands. We plant in blocks through the season so there is always something coming off the lands, and we sell it fresh — collected at the farm gate or delivered through our own distribution side.
Eight crops make up the horticulture side of the farm. Jump straight to the one you are buying:
Maize and grain are handled on their own page, together with the the Sbali / Chitsano roller meal we supply.
Prices move with the season, so we quote on the day you order. Tell us the crop, the quantity and the date you need it, and we will confirm what is ready. Orders are taken by phone, WhatsApp and email — there is no card payment online.
These five crops carry the vegetable side of the farm. Volumes change with the planting cycle, so call or send a message and we will tell you what is in the ground, what is being picked this week and what is still to come.

Onions grown in rows, then lifted and cured before they are bagged so they keep well in storage and on the shelf. Bags suit wholesalers and retailers; households can take smaller quantities. Onions also earn their place in the rotation by giving the soil a break from heavier feeders.
Green beans picked young and tender and packed the same day, so they reach the market crisp rather than tired. Best suited to retailers and market traders who want a regular, repeating order through the picking season.
Firm cabbage heads cut as the order goes out and loaded straight from the land. Sold by the head to households collecting at the farm, and by the load to wholesalers, distributors and market traders.
Carrots lifted, washed and graded before they are packed — the beta-carotene crop we keep talking about on our page. Supplied in bags to retailers and wholesalers, and in smaller packs for households and small kitchens.
These three come in with their season rather than all year round. If you are planning a load around them, speak to us first and we will tell you honestly what is available and when the next lot is due off the land.
A warm-season crop, sold whole and loaded by the load for market traders and wholesalers. Because it comes in cuts rather than continuously, call ahead and we will tell you what is ready and when the next cut is expected.
Ginger is planted in smaller blocks and sold fresh by weight. Volumes are limited compared with our vegetable lines, so wholesalers, retailers and households should ask about availability before building an order around it.
Pumpkins hold their condition well after harvest, which makes them easy to move in bulk to wholesalers, distributors and market traders. Households can also buy them by the piece when they collect at the farm.
Nothing clever, just the basics done properly — the routine our farm manager, Mr Sithole, keeps the crop on. We do not hold an organic certification and we do not claim one; what we can tell you is how the lands are worked.
Healthy soil grows healthy food, so the lands come first. Manure from our own piggery and poultry houses goes back into the ground, and beds are prepared and levelled properly before anything is planted. It is also why we sell farm manure to other growers — we use it ourselves.
Crops move around the blocks between seasons instead of the same thing going back into the same place. Rotation keeps disease and pest pressure down, spreads the work across the year and lets the maize lands and the vegetable beds follow one another.
Beds are watered to suit the crop and the weather rather than on habit, so plants are not left short at the stages that decide the yield — establishment, flowering and the run up to harvest. Land preparation and ploughing are done ahead of the rains so the ground takes water instead of shedding it.
Produce is picked at the right stage, graded, and kept out of the sun while it waits. Handling is where most fresh produce is lost, so we pack on the farm and move orders quickly — the shorter the road between the land and your shelf, the better it arrives.

Send us the crop, the quantity and the date. We will confirm what is ready, what it costs on the day and how it gets to you — collection at Plot 12 Sherwood or delivery through our distribution service.
Buying meat, meal or farm inputs at the same time? Add them to the same message and we will quote the whole order together.
When a block is ready to pick, it goes up on our page before it goes anywhere else. Follow along to see what is coming off the lands this week.
