Privacy at Ecomatt

The short version

Ecomatt Farm, Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe, Zimbabwe, is responsible for this website. If you would rather not read the whole page, these two lists cover almost all of it.

What actually happens

  • You email us when you want to. The forms on this site open your own mail app with your details already typed in. Nothing is sent until you press send in your mail app — so we receive exactly what you chose to send, and nothing more.
  • Your quote list stays with you. Items you add to the quote list or the wishlist are saved in your own browser on your own device. They never reach the farm until you email the list to us.
  • We answer, quote and deliver. Enquiry details are used to reply to you, price the order, arrange collection or delivery, and keep our own record of the sale.
  • A few outside services load on these pages. Live chat, Facebook video players, a map and the fonts and icons. They are all named further down.

What does not happen

  • No accounts, no passwords held by us. These are static pages. There is no membership system and no login that gives you access to farm records.
  • No card payment on this website. We never ask for a card number, a bank account or a mobile-money PIN on these pages. Orders are settled with us directly.
  • No advertising trackers of ours. We do not run our own analytics tag, advertising pixel or retargeting script on this site.
  • No selling your details. We do not sell, rent or trade enquiry details, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you once asked us a price.
Information you send

What you choose to send us, and what we do with it

Every form on this website works the same way: it checks that the required boxes are filled, then hands the contents to your own email app addressed to us. You see the message before it leaves, you can edit or delete anything in it, and you can simply close the mail window and nothing is sent.

Enquiry and quote forms

The contact form, the product enquiry forms and the quote list all open a message to sales@ecomatt.co.zw. Typically that message contains your name, the phone number or email address you want us to reply on, and what you are asking about — for example the quantity of pork you need, or which seedlings you are after. We use it to answer the enquiry, give you a price, agree a collection or delivery date, and keep our own record of what was agreed. Nothing more.

Job applications

The careers form opens a message to hr@ecomatt.co.zw with the role you are applying for and the contact details and experience you decide to include. Attach a CV only if you are comfortable doing so — you are attaching it to your own email, in your own mail app. We use applications to consider you for the role you applied for and to contact you about it. See Careers for what we are hiring for.

Newsletter sign-up

The footer sign-up box checks that the address looks valid, then opens a message from you to sales@ecomatt.co.zw asking us to add that address to the farm mailing list. If you change your mind before pressing send, nothing happens. To come off the list later, email the same address and say so.

Phone, WhatsApp and live chat

Most of our business is done by voice and message, and the buttons on this site are shortcuts to that: +263 71 474 5653, the sales line 078 360 5456, and WhatsApp. When you message us on WhatsApp, Meta handles that conversation under its own terms and we see your WhatsApp number and profile name. The live chat bubble in the corner of every page is run by Tawk.to — see the section on outside services below.

Where it goes inside the farm

  • Enquiries and quote requests are read by the sales side of the farm and, where an order needs stock confirmed or a delivery arranged, by the farm manager's team.
  • Job applications are read by HR and by the manager for the role concerned.
  • Our own email accounts sit with our email provider, so a copy of your message lives on their servers the way any email you send does.
  • We do not pass enquiry details to anyone else for their own marketing.
Your device

Your quote list, wishlist and cookies

The quote list on this site is not a checkout. It is a shopping note you build for yourself, kept in your browser's local storage, which you then send to us by email, WhatsApp or phone. Until you do that, we have no idea it exists.

What is stored, and by whom

What Set by What it holds How to get rid of it
Quote list This site The products you added, with quantities and unit prices. Stored in your browser under ecomatt.cart.v1. Remove the items on the quote list page, or clear this site's data in your browser.
Wishlist This site The product references you saved for later, under ecomatt.wishlist.v1. Unsave them on the wishlist page, or clear this site's data.
Live chat Tawk.to Cookies and storage that keep your chat conversation attached to you, so a reply reaches the right window. Clear cookies and site data for this site in your browser.
Embedded videos Facebook (Meta) Facebook's own cookies, set when a video player loads or plays on our videos and gallery pages. Block third-party cookies, or manage them in your Facebook settings.
Map Google Google's own cookies and storage, set by the map on the contact page. Block third-party cookies, or manage them in your Google account settings.

Clearing it yourself

In Chrome on a phone or computer, open the site, tap the padlock or the icon beside the address, then Cookies and site data, then delete. In Safari on iPhone, use Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data and remove the entry for this site. In Firefox, Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Using a private or incognito window keeps nothing at all once you close it — the quote list works there, it just does not survive.

Because the quote list lives in the browser, it does not follow you between devices. A list built on your phone will not appear on your laptop. Emailing it to us is the only thing that moves it off your device.

Outside services

Other companies whose services appear on these pages

We would rather name them than hide them. When one of these loads, your browser contacts that company directly, which means it can see your IP address and which page you were on. Each is listed with what it does here and where to read its own policy.

Service What it does on this site What it can see Their policy
Tawk.to live chat The chat bubble on every page, so you can ask a question without leaving. Whatever you type into the chat, plus your IP address, browser and the page you were viewing when you opened it. tawk.to privacy policy
Facebook video embeds Plays our reels in place on Farm Videos, Farm Progress and the product pages. That your browser loaded a Facebook player and your IP address. If you are signed in to Facebook in the same browser, Meta can connect that to your account. Meta privacy policy
Google Maps The map showing the road to Plot 12 Sherwood on the Contact page. Your IP address and the map area requested; more if you are signed in to Google. Google privacy policy
Google Fonts Serves the typefaces this site is set in. Your IP address and basic browser details when the font files are fetched. Google privacy policy
cdnjs (Cloudflare) Delivers the icon stylesheet used for the small symbols across the site. Your IP address and basic browser details when the stylesheet is fetched. Cloudflare privacy policy

Our own social pages

The links in the footer and on our media pages take you to Ecomatt Farm on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads and our WhatsApp channel. Once you are there you are on their platform, under their policies, and anything you comment or message is visible to us as the page owner in the way that platform allows. Following us is not the same as sending us your details — we only get what the platform shows a page admin.

Most of what is on this site started on Facebook

The photos, the reels and the build progress all come from our own page. You can browse them there instead, if you prefer.

Keeping, deleting, protecting

How long we keep things, and what you can ask us to do

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries we did not take further are cleared out of the sales inbox once they are plainly dead.
  • Orders and deliveries stay in our records for as long as we need them for the farm's own accounts and for any query about that sale.
  • Job applications are kept while the role is open. If you would like yours removed sooner, say so in your email and we will delete it.
  • The quote list and wishlist have no retention period at our end, because they never leave your browser unless you send them.

Keeping it safe

  • Access to the sales and HR inboxes is limited to the people who need to answer them.
  • This website is served over HTTPS, so the pages you load and the forms you fill in are encrypted in transit.
  • We never ask for a card number, bank details, a mobile-money PIN or a password on this website. If a page ever appears to, it is not ours — close it and call us.
  • No system is perfect. We keep what we hold to the minimum precisely for that reason.

Ask for a copy, a correction or a deletion

Email sales@ecomatt.co.zw — or hr@ecomatt.co.zw for anything to do with a job application — and tell us what you want. You can ask us to send you a copy of the enquiry details we hold about you, to correct something that is wrong, to stop using your details for anything other than finishing a job we are already doing for you, or to delete them altogether. Write from the address you contacted us on if you can, or tell us enough for us to find the right message, and we will get back to you. We will not charge you for asking.

Children

This is a working farm's business website: prices, produce, services and vacancies. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect details about anyone under 18. Farm tours and training visits that include young people are arranged with the school, church or organisation bringing them, and the details we handle are the organiser's. If you believe a child has sent us personal details through this site, email sales@ecomatt.co.zw and we will delete them.

Changes and contact

Changes to this policy, and how to reach us

The farm is growing and the website grows with it. Whenever we add something that changes how information is handled — a new form, a new embedded service, a change to what the quote list stores — we update this page at the same time. Substantial changes will be announced on our Facebook page.
