Our Leadership

Three roles carry Ecomatt Farm: the office that sets direction, the programme that builds the place, and the farm that runs every single day.

Who runs the farm

Three roles, one farm

Ecomatt Farm sits on Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe. Between the piggery, the poultry, the lands, the grain and the butchery, the work is split into three clear jobs. Here is what each one is responsible for.

Chief Executive Officer

Direction, investment and standards across every enterprise on the farm — held by Mr Muzorori.

Mr Muzorori

The office that carries the whole operation — horticulture, field crops, livestock, grain, the butchery and the farm supply side.

What the role covers

As Chief Executive Officer, Mr Muzorori sets the direction of the farm and decides where it grows next. Every phase of the expansion at Plot 12 Sherwood — the new pig houses, the extra pen lines, the grain and butchery side of the business — is agreed at this level before the first brick is laid.

The role is also where the farm meets the outside world. Buyers, input and feed suppliers, partners and the surrounding community deal with the office, and bulk supply arrangements — including bulk pork at $3.60 per kg — are settled here before they reach the farm gate.

Standards sit with this role too: how stock is kept, how the team is hired and trained, and how the farm accounts for what it produces.

  • Direction, planning and investment across every enterprise on the farm
  • Buyer, supplier and partner relationships, including bulk supply
  • Hiring, training standards and accountability for the team
  • Final word on animal welfare, hygiene and food-safety practice

Project Manager

What the role covers

The project manager looks after the farm you can watch being built. Setting out and foundations, brickwork course by course, steel trusses, roofing and the final finishes on each block: the role plans the sequence, keeps the crews supplied and checks the work as it rises.

In practice that means staging materials so the bricklayers never stand still, running the site meetings where progress and problems are dealt with in front of the work, and keeping levels, lines and dimensions honest before they are covered up.

It also means building around a working farm. Animals stay fed, watered and undisturbed while the structures around them change, so the programme is planned to fit the farm's routine rather than the other way round.

  • Programme and sequence for every new block and pen line
  • Materials, mortar and labour on site when the crews need them
  • Site meetings, setting out, levels and quality checks
  • Keeping construction clear of daily production and biosecurity

Farm Manager

Mr Sithole

The daily running of the farm — the piggery first, then the poultry, the and the lands.

Farm Manager

What the role covers

The farm manager owns the daily routine. Feeding programmes, water, pen hygiene, the farrowing house, weaners moving through to growers and finishers, and the records that say what happened in each pen on each day.

Animal health and biosecurity run through the role: clean, dry, well-ventilated pens, routine disinfection, and quick action when an animal is off form. The horticulture beds and the maize lands are worked to the same discipline — land preparation, planting, irrigation and harvest in their season.

He leads the farm team on the ground, sets the work plan each morning, and is usually the person who walks visitors through the pens on a tour or a training day.

  • Daily feeding, water, hygiene and stock checks across the piggery
  • Farrowing, weaning and grower routines, with records kept pen by pen
  • Biosecurity, disinfection and animal-health response
  • Land preparation, planting and harvest on the beds and the maize lands
  • Leading the farm team and hosting tours and training groups
