Terms & Conditions

These are the everyday rules of doing business with Ecomatt Farm — what this website is for, how quotes and orders work, and what you can expect from us once an order is confirmed. Written in plain English, because farming is hard enough.

What these terms cover

They apply when you browse this website, when you send us a quote request from it, and when you buy produce, pork, meal or farm supplies from us. If you would rather talk it through, call the farm — we answer the phone.

Who you are dealing with

"We", "us" and "the farm" mean Ecomatt Farm, a Zimbabwean farming and food production business operating from Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe. "You" means anyone using this website or buying from us. Here is how to reach a real person:

  • Farm office: +263 71 474 5653
  • Sales line and WhatsApp: 078 360 5456
  • Email: sales@ecomatt.co.zw for orders and quotes, hr@ecomatt.co.zw for work and recruitment.
  • Working hours: Mon–Fri 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sat 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM, closed Sunday.
  • Address: Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe, Zimbabwe — the same place you collect from.

This website gives information — it does not take your money

There is no card payment, no online checkout and no card or bank details collected anywhere on this site. What looks like a cart is a quote list: you gather what interests you, send it over, and the sales office comes back with availability and the price on the day. If any page ever asks you for card details, it is not us — stop and call the farm on the number above.

The forms on this site open in your own email or WhatsApp app so you can read a message before you send it. How we handle the details you do send us is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Which version applies, and a word about legal advice

These terms are reviewed periodically and updated when the way we trade changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies — there is no separate document to hunt for.

This page is a plain-language statement of how we do business; it is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a contract. For trade accounts, standing orders and larger supply arrangements the farm may issue a signed supply contract, and where that contract and this page differ, the signed contract wins.

Money matters

Prices, quotes and orders

Farm prices move with the season, the weather and the market. That is why we quote rather than publish a fixed list.

Prices and quotes

  • Prices change with the season and with the market. Anything you see written on this site, on social media or in an older message is an indication, not an offer.
  • A quote from the sales office is valid on the day it is given. Come back a week later and we will gladly quote you again.
  • Bulk pork is $3.60 per kg, and that price is for bulk orders only. For anything else — produce, meal, chicken, eggs, feed, chicks, seedlings or manure — ask for the day's price.
  • Every quote depends on stock being available when you confirm. Crops and livestock are not a warehouse; some weeks we are fuller than others.
  • Weights are taken on the farm scale at the time of loading, and that weight is what the invoice is built on.

Placing and confirming an order

  • Send your list from this website, or simply phone, WhatsApp or email the sales office — whichever is easiest for you.
  • A quote request is not yet an order. The order exists once we have confirmed it back to you by phone, WhatsApp or email, with the quantity, the price and the collection or delivery arrangement stated.
  • Please keep that confirmation message. It is the record we both work from if a question comes up later.
  • Payment terms are agreed with the sales office when your order is confirmed. Nothing is charged through this website.
  • If we cannot fill an order in full, we say so before you travel, and we offer what we do have rather than substituting quietly.
Getting the goods

Collection, delivery and fresh produce

Almost everything we sell is perishable. The terms below exist because fresh food will not wait for anybody.

Collecting from the farm

Collection is from Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe, during working hours and within the window agreed when your order was confirmed. Bring the name the order was placed under. Please come with transport and containers suited to what you are carrying — crates for produce, cooling for meat over any real distance. If you are going to be late, a quick call saves everyone standing around.

Delivery

We arrange delivery order by order rather than promising a blanket service. Where we can deliver, the cost and the timing are quoted with the order and confirmed before we load. Someone must be at the delivery point to receive, check and sign for the goods. If nobody is there and the load is perishable, we cannot leave it standing, and the cost of the wasted trip sits with the buyer.

Quality, weights and claims

Check your goods at handover — at the farm gate or when the delivery arrives. That is the moment when anything short, wrong or below standard is easiest to put right, and we would much rather fix it there than argue about it afterwards.

  • Raise any problem with fresh produce or meat on the same day you receive it, and before the goods are cut up, cooked, repacked or resold.
  • For non-perishable goods — meal, feed, packaging — tell us within two working days.
  • Where the fault is ours, we replace the goods, make up the shortfall on your next order, or adjust the price. You choose whichever of those suits you best.
  • Once goods have left our hands, how they are kept is out of our control, so we cannot carry losses caused by a broken cold chain, rough transport or storage after handover.

Changes and cancellations

Tell us as early as you can and a change is usually no trouble at all. The one thing to know is that bulk and standing orders set work in motion — animals are slaughtered, crops are cut and loads are packed to your order. If you cancel after that point, we will ask you to take the goods or to cover what was prepared for you. Cancel before we begin preparing and there is nothing to settle.

The site itself

Photographs, text and links to other sites

Nearly every picture on this website was taken on our own farm. We are happy for it to travel — within reason.

Our photographs, video and words

  • The photographs, video, page text and the Ecomatt Farm name belong to the farm or are used with permission.
  • You are welcome to share and link to our pages, and to repost our Facebook content the normal way, with credit.
  • Please do not copy our photographs or text into your own catalogue, listing or advert, or use them to sell produce that did not come from this farm.
  • Need an image or a description for a genuine reason — a wholesale listing, a school project, a news story? Email sales@ecomatt.co.zw and we will usually say yes.

Facebook, other platforms and outside links

This site links out to our Facebook page, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and WhatsApp. Some videos on this site play through Facebook's own player.

  • Those platforms are not ours to run. Their own terms, privacy rules and cookies apply once you are on them.
  • We are responsible for what we post; we are not responsible for comments, adverts or recommendations those platforms put next to it.
  • Pages selling "Ecomatt" produce that we have not confirmed are nothing to do with us. If in doubt, phone the farm before you pay anyone.
  • We keep this site as accurate and available as we can, but content can go out of date and the site can be down for maintenance. Spotted something wrong? Tell us and we will fix it.
The serious part

Responsibility, law and changes

Said plainly, without the small print voice.

What we stand behind

That the goods you receive are the goods we agreed on, honestly weighed, handled cleanly and fit for what they are sold as. If we get that wrong, we own it and we put it right — replacement, shortfall made up, or the price adjusted.

What we cannot carry

There are limits, and they are the ordinary ones any farm works to:

  • Losses from acting on a price seen on this website or on social media instead of a quote confirmed with the sales office.
  • Delays and shortfalls caused by things outside our control — weather, disease control measures, power and water cuts, fuel supply, transport breakdowns or road conditions.
  • Anything that happens on someone else's website or social platform that we link to.
  • Loss or spoilage after goods have been handed over to you or your transporter.
  • Indirect knock-on losses — lost profit, lost contracts, lost trade — rather than the value of the goods themselves. For any single order, what we can be asked to carry is limited to the value of that order.

None of this is meant to take away rights you have under Zimbabwean consumer law. Where the law gives you more than this page does, the law applies.

Governing law

These terms, and any order placed with us, are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, and the courts of Zimbabwe have jurisdiction. Before it ever reaches that, please call the farm — we would much rather settle a problem in one honest phone call than in a courtroom.

How these terms change

We update this page as the business grows and as the way we trade changes, and it is reviewed periodically. The current version is always the one published here. For an order already confirmed, the terms that were in place when we confirmed it are the ones that apply — we do not change the rules on you mid-order.
