Ecomatt Farm is a diversified agricultural enterprise at Plot 12 Sherwood, Kwekwe. We grow vegetables and field crops, run a breeding piggery and poultry houses, and put what we produce through our own butchery — supplying wholesalers, retailers, butcheries and households across the Midlands.

Pig Pens Construction

As part of our piggery expansion at Ecomatt Farm in Kwekwe, we undertook the construction of purpose-built pig pens designed to support proper animal housing, hygiene, and efficient daily management. The project focused on creating a durable and functional layout that meets the needs of both breeding and growing pigs.

Working Process

Challenge of this Case

Building a working farm from open bush meant doing the groundwork ourselves. The site at Sherwood had to be cleared and set out, foundations dug, and every wall laid by hand before a single animal could move in — all while keeping the existing crop and livestock operations running and supplying customers without a break.

Final Result

Excellence in Our Service Final Results

We built in phases, so each block came into production as soon as it was finished rather than waiting for the whole site. Our own crews handled the brickwork and the steel; the farm team set the pen layout around how the stock actually move, feed and are cleaned out. Progress was photographed stage by stage and posted publicly, which is how the record on this site exists.
